The Ipad

So, to explain, I read a blog called MckMama. She’s a former art teacher turned stay-at-home mom, pregnant with her fifth child. I began following her blog when her fourth child, Stellan, had his first ablation to cure his SVT. He is now SVT free thanks to a most successful second ablation. She has become a source of information and inspiration to me because God is number one in her family, and she leans more toward the all-natural which I would love to fully embrace; however, time-saving convenience tends to circumvent this desire, but I digress.

MckMama recently returned from a Compassion trip to Africa, feeling compelled to do more for God. So, she created a giveaway. Feedthechildren.org is a stateside mission that feeds the hungry here on our own soil. She challenged her readers to raise money to sponsor a truckload. The result would mean she could pick where she wanted the aid to go. I believe the winner of that truckload was Nashville, but again, I digress. To enter a chance to win the Ipad, you donated money toward this truckload, so, in reality, there was no loser, because hungry were/are being/will be fed, and we were given an opportunity to minister to God’s people (“when I was hungry, you fed me”).

I was ecstatic to help. I do feel so blessed in what God has placed in my life, and I love giving. My sister sometimes tells me I’m generous to a fault, but not this time. This was a great cause…needy Americans. Don’t get me wrong: I love being generous, but I hesitate in spreading the love overseas. Not because they don’t need it, but because I can see such need here. That’s not to say I endeavor into local missions as I should, but I do anything I can to help those around me. Jack and Sophie are the top of my mission list now because I want them to grow up with a God loving and God fearing heart that is kind, loving, compassionate, and, of course, generous. Yet again, I digress.

So, why do I tell you all this? Because, believe it or not, I won the Ipad!!!! I say I, but, given my generous nature (insert pat on back – couldn’t resist, should’ve, but didn’t), the Ipad is Kevin’s Father’s Day present (although didn’t wait to give it to him like I was advised to do…Brian).

That’s not to say I won’t use it, but it is Kevin’s. He deserves it. He’s a great husband and even greater dad. I decided I needed to at least blog about the new Ipad from the Ipad, right?

Anyway, I gave to an awesome ministry and was blessed in return with MckMama’s generosity. You should give her blog a read. You might even find the desire to grow produce in hay bales (I’m seriously considering it).

Thanks, MckMama. www.mycharmingkids.net
